It’s great to share that UK Bungee Club were a topic of conversation during The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on the 5th of September!

During an episode with Chris Harris, a British automotive journalist and television presenter, the duo discussed Freddie Flintoff, following the recent release of his documentary.

Chris Harris recalled experiences of past stunt shoots, commenting that ‘at close of play, end of the day, that’s when it goes wrong’. He went on to explain that on a shoot day, he will refuse to do off-the-cuff stunts or try new thing past 5:30 or 6pm, as people begin to grow tired, ignore rules, and start rushing to wrap things up.

He noted that ‘there was an element of, that day at Dunsfold, that was a shoot that was rushed, and I know that was a “we need to use this day” shoot. That’s another red flag for me, “we’ve got this day at a track and we need to fill it”

Following a story from Joe Rogan describing a stunt involving launching a car through a gap in a moving train (which required a huge amount of precision), Chris responded by saying ‘my experience of that now is that if you establish really big stunts that have big vision, and are ambitious, they tend to come with them, a level of rigour that means they are executed well.’

Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris worked very closely for many years, particularly on Top Gear. Chris was actually on location for our iconic Car Bungee at the Luzzone Dam in Switzerland, and was Freddie’s right-hand-man, communicating with him via an earpiece whilst he was waiting to be released in the car!

‘Some of the stuff that on Top Gear, I look back on, that was dangerous, visually dangerous, and definitely was in practical terms, I'm proud of because we executed it well’ Chris Harris said.

‘Fred Flintoff went off a dam in a Metro, and did a car bungee, which is an extraordinary piece of footage, it was just amazing film - but it was rigorous, it was done properly. They had an amazing stunt crew that did it’ he continued.

Chris then went on to show Joe the footage from the stunt, which he described as ‘a memorable piece of television’.

After much amazement, disbelief, and quite a few expletives, Joe Rogan said that it was ‘so ridiculous’ and ‘if that goes wrong, you’re dead’.

Chris’s final thoughts on the topic were that he was ‘very proud of what the team did there, and Andrew (Fred Flintoff) was magnificent’
